Joshua Early Childhood Center has begun an art enrichment program this year. Our art curriculum is a developmental based program for children between 2.5-5 years old. Our method?
Process Art is focused on the process, not the product. There are no predetermined products. Instead, teachers provide the guidance, materials, and tools to be creative - the objective is to learn, not teach. Our kiddos learn in, through, and about art by experiencing it
- "to become an artist by being one.”
Students will learn problem solving skills, come up with their own answers, discover the cause and effect of their actions and gain confidence in their own choices. These experiences will promote their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development that will forever benefit them. With our art enrichment program, we encourage our kids to think like artists, use their imaginations and make something new. So far, the kids have explored color mixing and finding shapes in everyday objects, including their own faces! They are exploring with different materials, including Sumi ink. We are so excited to see our artists blossom this year!
"As my artist's statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance." - Calvin and Hobbes
