Week of the Young Child!

It is the Week of the Young Child, as celebrated annually by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)! The week honors "early learning, young children, their teachers and families" and celebrates each day with themes like Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday.

Today, Joshua Academy thought about all the different ways children learn during meal time. From manners (e.g., passing food to each other), to language (e.g., "Grapes are in the fruit group"), fine motor (e.g., pouring liquids), independence (e.g, spreading cream cheese on crackers), and math skills (e.g, counting how many kids are in class to set the table), every part of the day at Joshua Academy is meaningful, including snack!
